Earlier today, the Department of Medical Sciences at the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) received a remarkable donation worth 12 million Kenyan Shillings from the University of Ghent-Belgium and other well-wishers.
The donation, comprising 53 cutting-edge items—including an interactive egg simulator, 20 microscopes, and a heart rate (pulse) meter machine was officially received and inspected by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Research and Extension Prof Peter Gichangi, Dean School of Applied and Health Sciences Prof Huxley Makonde, and the Chairman of Medical Sciences Department Mr Nyarambe Wigina.
This generous contribution signifies a pivotal step in enhancing TUM’s resources for medical training and research, empowering students with state-of-the-art equipment to advance medical knowledge. TUM is in the process of establishing the first school of medicine in Mombasa Kenya.
