29th March 2018, was the day which saw the team of TUM intellects exhibit their political abilities after a vibrant campaign period.

The Faculty of Applied Health Sciences witnessed a tightly contested election where Prof. Rahma Udu Yusuf emerged top with 36 votes beating her main opponent Prof. Jobunga Eric Ouma who garnered 32 votes. Dr. Charles Matoka, the third contestant in the race got 4 votes. Prof. Rahma Udu Yusuf succeeds Prof. Josiah Odalo. In the School of Business, the former acting Dean Dr. Uzel retained the seat after a landslide victory which saw her getting 26 votes over 12 votes of her opponent Dr. ngodze.

The dean of Engineering Prof. Onchiri and his Humanity counterpart Prof. Abdulkadir escaped the heat after they went to the ballot an opposed. The newly elected deans are expected serve in their respective offices for the next two years. The newly elected deans thanked their colleagues for granting them the opportunity to serve them. They acknowledged that the task ahead would come with challenges but they were confident that with team and professionalism, they were up to the task and promise to work hard to fulfill the mandates of their respective schools.

Registrar Academic Affairs who was also the Returning Officer of the elections Dr. Paul G. Njihia Congratulated the new Deans and urged them to embrace team spirit and actively participate in the Schools activities for the betterment of the university.
