After decades of hard work, sacrifice, and dedication, ten employees of the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) were honoured today in a heartfelt retirees’ farewell party organized by the Human Resource Department. The event was graced by the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Gichangi, Registrar (Administration and Planning), Dr. Shivani, HR staff, the retirees, and their families.
The occasion was marked by warm moments of laughter, reflection, and exchange of feedback as guests and hosts reminisced on years gone by.
Prof. Gichangi congratulated the retirees on this new chapter and expressed the University’s deep gratitude for their long-standing service. He noted that their individual and collective contributions have significantly shaped the institution into what it is today. He also encouraged them to remain active through community service and purposeful engagement in retirement.
Each retiree was presented with a certificate of appreciation and a gift from the institution, in recognition of their service.
The event concluded with a shared meal; one final celebration in honour of a journey well-travelled.
