Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) Kwale Campus was a beehive of activities over the weekend as 21 Universities across the country converged for Kenya Universities Sports Federation (KUSF) national netball, handball and woodball competitions.

TUM participated in four sports disciplines namely, woodball, netball, handball and beach volleyball in the October 19-20, 2024 event.

TUM faced great teams from Maseno University, Kisii University, Kenyatta University, University of Nairobi, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and Multimedia University as the tournament kicked off.

Teams participating in the event were highly competitive, with each standing a chance to bag trophy. TUM Woodball teams, men's and women's, put up a spirited fight that saw them clinch first (1st) runners-up and second runners-up respectively, hence bringing home two trophies.

The long hours of training, practice, and sacrifice finally paid off. This was a great achievement from an event attended by universities across the whole country.

The handball team fought tooth and nail against the Maseno University team, with gallant moves from the captain and goalkeeper, but that wasn't enough to keep the team moving up in the competition.

At least the teams returned to the main campus heads up with the two trophies. This motivated them while also igniting ambition to prepare harder in order to win more medals in the next time.
