Four Architecture students have been selected to participate in the Erasmus+ Credit Mobility Programme at Politecnico di Torino, Italy, marking the fourth cohort from the department to benefit from the exchange. The cohort comprises top-performing students: Monica Maina, Joan Katama, Jackson Irungu, and John Mutua.

Speaking on the programme, Dr. Kalandar Khan, the Academic Leader, noted that 12 students have participated in the exchange so far, each spending a semester abroad. He highlighted international exposure as the programme’s greatest benefit, citing improved academic performance and enhanced employment prospects after graduation.

The fifth-year students shared their excitement ahead of their departure next week, expressing anticipation for Italy’s iconic historical architecture, rich food culture, and the opportunity for both personal and professional growth.

One of the students, John Mutua, remarked:

“I am most looking forward to the buildings for sure. Italy is home to some of the most beautiful architectural masterpieces, such as the Roman Colosseum, Brunelleschi’s Duomo, the Uffizi Gallery, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa, among others.”

The exchange programme, which takes place once a year, remains highly competitive and continues to be a transformative opportunity for Architecture students.

As the fourth cohort prepares to embark on this journey, a new chapter of learning, exploration, and global exposure awaits.
