KENYA AIRWAYS CHALLENGE EDITION TWO (2) COMES TO AN END

Happy moment for Students from Technical University of Mombasa, for both Green and Black teams as they all emerged victorious at the K.Q challenge. The event was held at the City Mall Nyali, Mombasa on 18th September 2018. It was a technology based challenge with the ideas of developing a website for Kenya Airways at which both flying and non- flying clients could get medical services online from the company’s medical center. Also there was the idea of using the website to create a platform where employees could be able to submit their ideas or views according to what they see.

Being the second edition of the challenge, participants from different institutions met for presentations of their projects. The competition was sub-categorized into two; Afya team and Initiative Management tool. Afya team was meant to tackle issue of online medical services of the company while Initiative Management tool was all about coming up with new ideas to be conveyed to the Management Board for vetting and final selection of best ideas for implementation by the company.

Afya team included three competitors who were Blue, Grey and Green teams. On the other hand Black, Red and White teams made the Initiative Management category. Also during the competitions were Stakeholders; TechBrige (organizers), Technical University of Mombasa (TUM), Kenya Airways (K.Q, also the Judges) and International Business Machine (IBM). The challenge was found to be highly competitive but as always there had to be a winner and that is what exactly happened to Green and Black teams after the results were announced.
