The Institute of Computing and Informatics recently hosted an engaging and insightful career talk by the ISACA Kenya Chapter, offering students a unique opportunity to interact with professionals in the tech space.

The session provided valuable insights into professional pathways in IT, cybersecurity, and governance, giving students a clearer understanding of the diverse career directions available within the digital landscape.

This engagement comes at a strategic time, as the ISACA Kenya Annual Conference 2026 is currently underway in Mombasa. Hosted at PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort & Spa, the conference brings together industry leaders, practitioners, and emerging talent under the theme “Digital Trust: Securing Tomorrow’s Intelligence — Today.” The event features workshops, talks, and networking sessions focused on cybersecurity, IT governance, risk management, and digital transformation.

In a strong demonstration of their commitment to nurturing future talent, the ISACA Kenya Chapter sponsored six students from the university, alongside their lecturer Thadeus Ogwoka, to participate in the ongoing conference sessions. This opportunity provides students with exposure to real-world industry conversations, professional networks, and practical insights beyond the classroom.

The visit also reflects the growing importance of collaboration between universities and professional organizations in bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. Through such engagements, students are better equipped with the knowledge, networks, and confidence needed to navigate the professional world.
