Recently, the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) was honored with three second-place awards at the DIAR 7th Edition Gala Night held at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi. The awards were received by Jonathan Metet, TUM's Disability Inclusion Champion, on behalf of Vice Chancellor Prof. Laila Abubakar. TUM was recognized in the following categories:

  1. Best Public University on Equitable Allocation of Opportunities and Resources – 1st Runner-Up
  2. Best Public University on Ethnic Representation – 1st Runner-Up
  3. Best Public University on Gender Representation – 1st Runner-Up

These awards reflect TUM’s unwavering dedication to promoting diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all. The university is deeply committed to fostering an environment where gender, ethnicity, and disability are not barriers to success.
