Earlier this year, Professor Rik Van de Walle, the Rector of the University of Ghent-Belgium, paid a visit to the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) and formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the connections and cooperation between the two universities. This initiative is particularly significant in light of TUM's ambitions to establish a School of Medicine.
As a follow-up to this significant collaboration, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Laila Abubakar, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Administration, Finance and Planning, Prof Joseph Rasowo, Registrar of Partnerships, Research, and Innovation, Prof Rahma, and Prof MichaelSaulo embarked on a trip to Belgium for international university collaboration. From the 30th of September to the 4th of October, the TUM delegation had the valuable opportunity to interact with professors from the University of Ghent and other esteemed institutions. TUM was chosen from numerous African institutions to participate in this prestigious platform, showcasing the high regard that our partners hold for the institution despite the stiff competition.
The successful trip has been highly promising for the future of TUM in terms of international partnerships and collaborations.
