The organizational structure of the University takes cognizance of principles whose main aim will be to facilitate efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
TUM has identified a chain of command detailing the reporting. The organizational structure of the University comprises the Chancellor, the university Council, the vice Chancellor who is the CEO of the Institution, the Senate, University Management Board and academic and administrative staff.
The Chancellor is the titular head of the University who presides over the Congregations of the University and confer degrees and grant diplomas, certificates and other awards of the University.
The Council has the responsibility to exercise prudent leadership, innovative enterprise, and good judgment in directing the University in all aspects of the mandate as prescribed in the statutes.

The Vice Chancellor is the Academic and Administrative Head of the University who is responsible to the Council for maintaining and promoting the efficiency and good order to the University; with overall responsibility of the direction, organization, administration and programmes of the University. The Vice Chancellor is in-charge of all administrative functions of the university and the link between the university staff and the Council
